The location

Located between Moscova and Turati, a very central area, beating heart of the city, Cerere – cibo dalla Terra, represents the right mix between sophisticated and informal. A young, family-friendly environment with a single room seating 24 people and directly overlooking the city.

The interiors have been curated by Giorgia and Mauro, with salvaged materials and design objects sourced from trips around Italy and junk shops. Warm materials, such as wood (reclaimed from a villa in the Veneto region and used here for the floors) and clay, as well as contrasts from contemporary design and modern antiques prevail.

The Murano glass chandelier and tables made with ceramic tiles from Monreale dominate the scene. If the cuisine nods to gourmet, the mise en place on the other hand is fresh and contemporary, classic white tablecloths giving way to plates and accessories made by young artisans, recycled paper menus, and coffee cups with a vintage feel.
